Duties Description Reporting to the Program Analyst 2 (Cannabis), the incumbent of this position will support cannabis research licensing and internal research studies. Duties will include assisting with the collection and analysis of research data, contributing to the development of regulatory and guidance documents, reviewing cannabis research license applications, and supporting applicants with license requirements.
Duties will include, but not be limited to:
• Assist with the development, analysis, and interpretation of internal OCM cannabis research studies and surveys.
• Monitor, evaluate, and provide analysis of relevant cannabis research studies at both the state and federal levels.
• Collect, compile, and assist with the analysis of data from OCM systems and databases for use in publications, presentations, outreach materials, and legislative reports.
• Monitor and review cannabis research license applications for completion and eligibility for licensure.
• Assist with the administrative oversight of cannabis research licensee compliance.
• Assist prospective applicants with understanding the research regulatory structure and application requirements.
• Develop educational resources on relevant policies, regulations, and opportunities related to cannabis research.
• Draft written communications including but not limited to reports, summaries, publications, and guidance documents.
• Conduct projects and program analyses as directed by supervisors.
• Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Six years of experience* in a cannabis, industrial hemp, medical marijuana, agricultural, environmental, public health, public safety, or economic development analyst position where primary responsibilities were policy or programmatic quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and/or communications.
*Substitution: A bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, agriculture science, horticulture, plant sciences, data analytics, urban studies, communications, public health, public safety, or a related field may substitute for four years of the non-supervisory experience. Master’s degree in the same fields as bachelor’s may substitute for an additional year of the non-supervisory experience.
